Polestar 4 SUV Costs £2,000 Less And Finally Gets A Rear Window
by AutoExpert | 2 September, 2026
For the Polestar 4, the biggest change is surprisingly simple: it finally gets a rear window. The new SUV version trades the coupe’s steeply sloped tail for a more upright design, bringing extra headroom, more cargo space, and a lower price in the UK.
That makes the SUV a more practical sibling to the existing coupe. Rear passengers gain 1 inch of headroom, while maximum cargo capacity rises to 1,665 liters with the rear seats folded. With the seats up, though, there’s only a small difference: 530 liters for the SUV versus 526 liters for the coupe. Both have a tiny 15-liter frunk.

The conventional rear window also means you can use a normal rear-view mirror, although Polestar will still offer the coupe’s digital mirror for buyers who prefer it. Under the skin, the two versions share the same powertrains. The rear-drive model makes 268 hp and 253 lb-ft, reaching 62 mph in 7.3 seconds and covering up to 391 miles on the WLTP cycle. The dual-motor version produces 536 hp and 506 lb-ft, cuts the 0-62 mph time to 3.9 seconds, and has a 373-mile WLTP range.

Both versions use a 100 kWh battery and support DC charging at up to 200 kW. Buyers can add the Performance Pack, which brings ZF active dampers, Brembo brakes, 22-inch wheels, and Pirelli P Zero tires. The SUV also supports vehicle-to-load charging at up to 3.3 kW and has a Camping mode that keeps the climate control and other cabin functions running while parked.

UK prices start at £54,750 for the rear-drive version and £60,750 for the Dual Motor. Adding the Performance Pack brings the starting price to £68,250. In each case, the SUV costs £2,000 less than the equivalent coupe. Production is already underway in Busan, South Korea, with deliveries expected in the fourth quarter.
There is one catch for American buyers: the Polestar 4 SUV won’t be coming to the US. Polestar is leaving the market rather than taking on restrictions tied to its Chinese ownership and technology.
