Opel Rocks-e Kargo Is A Little EV That Is Great For City Deliveries

Opel introduces a new car in its SUM (Sustainable Urban Mobility) lineup. The little electric vehicle, dubbed the Rocks-e Kargo, is made for city commuting and requires zero emissions. The Rocks-e Kargo, on the other hand, is classified as a quadricycle by the European Union.

Citroen's My Ami Cargo is rebadged as the Rocks-e Kargo. Rather than having a passenger seat, the space has been converted into a storage compartment with a capacity of over 106 gallons (400 liters).

The Rocks-e Kargo features an adjustable loading floor that can accommodate things up to 47.2 inches (1.2 m) in length. It has a payload capacity of 309 lbs (140 kg). The Rocks-e Kargo should be able to fit a box, pizza, or anything else within the cabin.

The Rocks-e Kargo's small dimensions, at 94.9 inches (2.41 m) long, 54.7 inches (1.39 m) broad, and 59.8 inches (1.52 meters) in height, make it an ideal urban freight mover. This enables the little EV to fit through narrow streets. It also has a turning radius of 283.5 in (7.2 m), making it extremely agile.

The Opel Rocks-e Kargo produces 8 hp (6 kW) of continuous power, with a peak power output of 12 hp (9 kW) for sprinting. An AC home outlet can fully recharge the 5.5 kWh battery in about 4 hours. According to WLTP regulations, it has an electric driving distance of up to 46.6 miles (75 km).

Later this year, Opel will begin taking orders for the Rocks-e Kargo in Germany and the Netherlands. Other countries are expected to follow, however, it's unclear whether this will ever be available in the United States.
