Opel GT Concept – The Future On 4 Wheels

This is innovation coming from Opel - an Opel GT Concept with a mid positioned engine, a sequential gearbox, and rear drive.

The concept has no door handles, no exterior mirrors, or windshield wipers. Opel GT Concept has wide doors, with integrated side windows, which insure an unperceivable passing from the painted side to the window.

Both the driver and the front passenger can access the car by using the electric doors touchpad. The doors open in an ergonomic manner and ensure a wide opening angle.

There are two video cameras installed on the outside that provide a good view of the surroundings by transmitting the images on two screens situated on the right and left side of the control panel.

The windshield extends onto the roof with a panoramic glass roof. The hood reveals the Opel GT Concept's propulsion system, similar to the first Opel GT and Corvette. There is a supercharged 1-liter engine, with 3 cylinders.

The basis for this engine served the aluminum ultra-modern engine used for ADAM, Corsa, and Astra. This engine develops 107 kW, equal to 145 hp, and has a torque of 205 Nm, in the configuration of the sports.

The gearbox has six phases, which can be shifted from the steering wheel. Opel GT Concept can reach the first 100 km/h in less than 8 seconds, with a maximum speed of 215 km/h.

The lights with integrated signals are another innovation brought by the Opel GT Concept. The LEDs have the Opel IntelliLux LED technology, which ensures a better view and has won the SAFETY BEST award in 2015, on the new Opel Astra.

The Opel GT Concept will be presented at the 86th edition of the International Auto Salon in Genève, on March 3-13, 2016. However, there are no plans for the near future production of the Opel GT Concept.
