Ampera-e features an electric engine like Chevrolet Bolt has, delivering 201 hp and 360 Nm. The propeller has a lithium-ion battery of 60 kWh, mounted on the floor. Opel claims that a charge of only 30 minutes at a capacity of 50 kWh can provide a range of 150 km.

The Germans guarantee an autonomy of 520 km, but the tests in real traffic ensure 380 km, which is enough to escape the audience of the anxiety about reduced autonomy.

As for performances, Opel claims that the acceleration from 0 to 50 km/h will be done in 3.2 seconds and from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. The maximum speed reaches 150 km/h and it should be enough for daily usage.

Opel Ampera-e's interior is pretty comfortable and has all the technology needed. There is a 10.2 inch screen connected to a multimedia system that provides support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There are also voice recognition, wi-fi hotspot, wireless charging of mobile phone and internet connection.

According to Karl-Thomas Neumann, the director of Opel, this is an electric car suitable for everyday driving. Opel is really trying to prove to its clients that electric mobility can be accessible.

The manufacturer has already opened the order lists for the Norwegian market, where 3,400 customers have already made an advance for Ampera-e. The list of countries to receive Ampera-e includes Germany, Holland, France, and Switzerland.
