Norway Wants To Ban Petrol And Diesel Fueled Cars By 2025

Nowadays, Norway is the leader in sales of electric cars worldwide. Thus, the country's authorities want to ban petrol and diesel-fueled cars by 2025. In order to achieve that, the local authorities are planning to toughen up the tax system and stimulate the sales of electric cars.
Approximately 24% of the total sales of cars in the country are electric cars. At the same time, Norway is one of the largest oil exporters.
The same happens in Germany, where the German authorities expect that all new cars registered in the country have zero emissions by 2030. The corresponding document has already been prepared for the Bundesrat. This document is part of a global plan to reduce emissions by 80-95% by 2050.
The same legal measures are being prepared by the other members of ZEV. The initiative may be joined by the USA states of California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, and Vermont.
Moreover, the Netherlands is preparing for the phase-out of vehicles that run on gasoline and diesel fuel. The country's lower house of parliament has already voted for a bill that bans sales of these cars. In case this initiative gets approved, only electric cars will be sold in the Netherlands starting with 2025.
