Nissan Exposes 4 All-Electric Concepts And Plans 23 Electrified Models By 2030

By the end of the fiscal year 2030, Nissan expects to offer 23 new electrified cars, including 15 EVs. Thought-provoking concepts have also emerged. With the presentation of its Ambition 2030 long-term goal, the Japanese manufacturer confirmed the ambitions. By 2050, the carmaker will be carbon neutral throughout the life cycle of its goods.
Nissan will invest 2 trillion yen over the next 5 years to speed the electrification of its portfolio and the level of technical innovation. In the next 5 years, Nissan plans to offer at least 20 new EV and e-POWER equipped vehicles, with electrified cars accounting for 75% of sales in Europe by 2026.
In Japan, it wants to electrify 55% of sales, while in China, it wants to electrify more than 40% of sales. Nissan's goal for EV sales in the United States is 40% by 2030.
Nissan's objective is to reduce battery prices by 65% by 2028 by improving its present lithium-ion battery technologies and introducing cobalt-free innovation. It also wants to release an electric vehicle with solid-state batteries by 2028, and a pilot facility in Yokohama by 2024.
By 2028, the manufacturer hopes to decrease the cost of solid-state battery packs down to $75 per kWh, aiming to reach cost equality with a gasoline vehicle at $65 per kWh.
Nissan also showcased 4 electrified concepts as part of its Ambition 2030 event. The Nissan Chill-Out, Nissan Max-Out, Nissan Surf-Out, and Nissan Hang-Out are among them. The first one is a sleek design that has a two-tone silver and black appearance and is built on Nissan's CMF-EV platform.
The Nissan Max-Out, on the other hand, is a two-seat convertible concept designed to provide a unique driving experience with its superior handling and comfort.
The Nissan Surf-Out Concept is really intriguing. It's an all-electric pickup vehicle with excellent off-road capability.
The 4th concept is the Hang-Out, which is a movable living room with a flat floor and theater-style seats. As far, Nissan hasn't confirmed which of these concept cars will see the light of day as a real-world vehicle.
