2025 Nissan Altima Cuts Turbo Engine, Introduces New Features For 2025

Nissan might be phasing out the Altima due to falling sales. The biggest change is removing the 2.0-liter turbo engine that had 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.

For 2025, the only engine option is a 2.5-liter inline-four that produces 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque.

An Xtronic CVT gearbox attaches to this motor, and for an additional $1,500, most trims can add all-wheel-drive. The other major announcement coming in 2025 will be the SV Special Edition package. It costs $1,090 to add body-color mirrors, a rear spoiler, and a sunroof, as well as 17-inch gloss-black alloy wheels. Inside the cabin there is also a larger infotainment display measuring 12.3 inches, wireless charging for smartphones, as well as a dual-zone automatic climate control system.

It also comes with a remote start, illuminated sill plates, and faux carbon fiber trim. For the 2025 Altima SR, a new bronze wheel option will be available for $670. Additionally, the base S grade now features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Pricing for the 2025 Nissan Altima starts at $27,000, up by $630 from last year. It also comes with a new maintenance program that includes up to three scheduled oil changes.
