Nio EP9 is the fastest autonomous electric hypercar, with a power of 1,341 hp. Now, it has managed to perform the fastest lap in the autonomous world. The Circuit of America has been covered in 2 minutes 40.33 seconds, with a maximum speed of 160 mph.
With a driver on board, the car covered the same lap in 2 minutes 11.30 seconds, which is allegedly a record for the production vehicles. With a driver, the car touched the speed of 170 mph.

A group of four electric engines is powering EP9. According to Nio, the hypercar can cover the 0-100 km/h sprint in 2.7 seconds, touching 200 km/h in 7.1 seconds. Theoretically, the car's maximum speed reaches 265 mph.

EP9 is currently prepared for debuting at the Coppertank Event Center, near Austin, Texas, from March, 10 to 12. It hasn't been yet announced when the deliveries for the hypercar will begin. The price is presumed to reach $1 million or even more.

Nio has previously marked some great successes in Europe, like in November, when it set a new electric record at Nurburgring, covering it in 7 minutes 5.12 seconds.
