In a statement released to Motor1.com, Chevrolet has unveiled a slew of changes to the Colorado truck for 2024, coming surprisingly soon after the introduction of the 2023 generation.

New Engine Specifications

The most significant change lies under the hood. The 2.7L Turbo Plus engine is now discontinued, making way for the TurboMax engine, the same as in the Silverado. With 310 HP and an increased 430 lb.-ft. of torque, this new engine option will be standard on the Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2 trims, and available for the WT and LT.

Interior Upgrades

Inside, the 2024 Colorado features an 11-inch driver information display, a considerable upgrade from the previous 8.0-inch screen. Additional packages like the Dark Essentials package for WT, LT, and Z71, and the Front Fender Decal Package for LT, Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2 are also available.

Enhanced Safety Features

Chevy is not cutting corners when it comes to safety. The WT, LT, Trail Boss, and Z71 will now include Blind Zone Steering Assist with Trailering for added security.

Special Editions and Options

The off-road-focused ZR2 trim is getting special treatment with 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels featuring a Tech Bronze decorative ring and an optional Recovery Package. Also, the ZR2 Bison will rejoin the lineup with a plethora of rugged features including power-locking front and rear differentials, rear jounce control dampers, and Multimatic DSSV dampers. This truck gets its power from the same TurboMax engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic, a two-speed transfer case, and a four-wheel drive, complete with a Baja Mode with launch control.

Pricing and Availability

The ZR2 Bison pricing details are still under wraps, but sales are set to start this autumn.
