New Koenigsegg Hypercars Production Begins!

Earlier in the month, at Monterey Car Week in California, the Koenigsegg Jesko and Jesko Absolut had their formal live debuts in pre-production guise. Both were supposed to debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show, but the event was canceled at the last moment. Now, those who ordered one of the $3 million cars will be receiving them soon.

According to the Supercar Blog, Jesko manufacturing has commenced at the Swedish company's Angelholm plant. Since it's a small facility with only 8 spots on the production line, each example takes around 8 weeks to complete.

Since each Koenigsegg is custom-built, no two are similar. To create a place for the Jesko twins, the Regera's manufacturing has reached its last stage, according to the source. The Absolut is a high-speed performance model, which differentiates it from the other variations.

For lower downforce and a better drag coefficient, the rear wing of the standard Jesko is substituted by a pair of back fins. For improved stability at high speeds, Koenigsegg withdrew the front splitter and winglets, and the rear wheels have detachable coverings. The highest speed is expected to be 330.5 mph.

On normal fuel, both cars are powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that produces 1,280 horses and 1,106 lb-ft of torque. On E85, the output rises to 1,600-hp. The motor is mated to Koenigsegg's innovative nine-speed multi-clutch Light Speed Transmission (LST), which is touted to switch quicker than a dual-clutch gearbox.

Jesko's manufacturing is restricted to only 125 pieces, all of which have already sold out. Total Jesko Absolut output is projected to be significantly lower and, unsurprisingly, more expensive. If manufacturing has started and given the 8-week production timetable, the first Jesko vehicles might be on the highway by late October or early November.
