Recently, Luis Camilleri stated in an interview about correcting everyone on the wrong assumption that their Ferrari Purosangue is an SUV. "This vehicle will be so unique and it will redefine expectations. Our Ferrari is nothing like any SUV on the market and this comparison doesn't fit the brand at all. We're calling it an is un FUV, actually." What does it mean?

FUV stands for Ferrari Utility Vehicle if you haven't guessed already, and Ferrari isn't the only one renaming its SUV look alike. For example, the German automaker - BMW, called their own SUV, Sports Activity Vehicle, an SAV. There's still no explanation about why popular automakers are tempted to create their own SUV but avoid the stigma.

Purosangue isn't the final nickname, because the direct translation for the US customers, is  "thoroughbred" and is also the name for an anti-doping, non-profit charity. There is an active lawsuit between Ferrari and the Purosangue Foundation, despite the fact that the charity trademarked the name in 2013.  The fact that there's still an active lawsuit, the name might be changed due to the judge's decision about the naming.

Based on the Ferrari Roma platform, but it was upgraded by the engineering division. The platform features the brand's front-engined vehicles and is designed with variety and electrification. These improvements could help put a V6, V8 engine or the newest 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12. We know so far, that the Purosangue will be a hybrid delivering over 707 hp.

Most likely, this  Ferrari will come with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 delivering more than 700 hp and the chance to overcome the Lamborghini URUs's performances. Enrico Galliera, Ferrari's Chief Marketing Officer, stated that fans should not expect a  hybrid drivetrain with a V12, because that would be a heavy and big car.

We can't wait for more details about this Ferrari model. Watch the video below to see the camouflaged prototype in action.
