Kona N, Hyundai's latest high-performance N model, has been unveiled in Australia. The SUV will be available in two versions: the entry-level Kona N and the top-of-the-line Kona N Premium. The standard model starts at AU$47,500 ($34,945) before on-road fees, whereas the Kona N Premium starts at AU$50,500 ($37,152) before on-road charges.

The new 2022 Kona N is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that shares power with the i30 N and produces 276 horsepower (206 kW) and a torque of 289 lb-ft (392 Nm) between 2,100 and 4,700 rpm.

Kona N

Kona N will be the first Hyundai N model to be offered without a six-speed manual gearbox, instead opting for an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The N Grin Shift, N Track Sense, and N Power Shift functions are the same as on the i30 N DCT. A limited-slip differential that is electronically controlled directs power to the front wheels.

Kona N

Hyundai Kona N's suspension system, like that of several other Hyundai vehicles, has been modified for Australian roads. The electronic suspension adjusts the dampers at each wheel up to 200 times per second based on traffic conditions.

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, High Beam Assist, Lane Following Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Warning, Smart Cruise Control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Parking Distance Warning – rear, and a Rear-View Monitor are among the standard safety features available across the Kona N range in Australia.

Kona N
Atlas White, Cyber Gray, Dark Knight, Phantom Black, Ignite Flame, Performance Blue, and Gravity Gold, a matte hue, are the Kona N's exterior colors. An electrochromic mirror, head-up display, parking distance warning – front, suede/leather furnished interior, power driver and front passenger seats, heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, glass sunroof, and artificial light are all features exclusive for the Kona N Premium.
