Huawei and Seres, partners in the joint venture Aito, have unveiled the M9, a spacious six-seater SUV combining advanced tech, multiple screens, and other unique features. The electric SUV showcases modern styling, featuring adaptive matrix LED headlights with an integrated projector for a cinematic experience.

Inside the Aito M9, the dashboard hosts three displays: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central infotainment screen, and a 16-inch front passenger screen.

The tech extends with a 75-inch head-up display and additional tablets for rear passengers, all running on Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4 system. Huawei's 25-speaker, 2,080-watt audio system and active noise reduction technology enhance the audio experience. The flexible 6-seater interior, depicted in an official gallery with a double bed setup, features electrically operated seats, most with 14-way adjustment, heating, and ventilation.

Safety is a priority with 27 sensors and the latest Huawei ADS 2.0 system. Despite being larger than a BMW X7, measuring 5,230 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,800 mm tall, with a 3,110 mm wheelbase, the Aito M9 boasts a commendable drag coefficient of 0.264 CD. The structure incorporates die-cast nuclear submarine-grade hot-formed steel and an 80% aluminum alloy body.

Aito offers two powertrain choices for the M9. The fully electric variant, equipped with dual motors producing a combined 523 hp and a 97.7 kWh battery pack, delivers a CTLC range of 630 km. The range-extender version features a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine/generator, dual electric motors with 490 hp, and 42 kWh or 52 kWh batteries from CATL, providing a combined range between 1,362-1,402 km with a fully charged battery and full tank of gas.

Aito M9

The M9 sits above the M5 and M7 SUVs in Aito's lineup, with Huawei providing the electric powertrain, sensors, infotainment, etc. Positioned in the Chinese market against rivals like Li Auto L9, Nio ES8, HiPhi X, Hongqi E-HS9, and ICE-powered luxury SUVs from European automakers, the M9 is available for order in China, priced between ¥469,800 ($65,726) and ¥569,800 ($79,717), with deliveries expected in early 2024.
