The New Moke Mk2 Has No Doors, No Roof and Costs Around $47,000

Some electric cars want to conquer the highway. The new Moke Mk2 would rather take you along the coast with the sea breeze in your hair. Unveiled at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, this updated electric runabout keeps the unmistakable shape of the classic Moke while improving its battery range.
It starts at £36,000 (around $47,000 in the US). That’s a lot of money for a car with no doors, no roof, and barely enough room for your shopping.

The Mk2 replaces the previous electric version introduced in 2022 with a larger 23.5-kWh battery. Moke quotes a WLTP range of up to 105 miles, while its own testing suggests as much as 115 miles around cities and coastal areas. Power comes from a 44-hp electric motor producing 74 lb-ft of torque, and the top speed is just 53 mph.

Charging requires a little more patience. The Moke Mk2 has no DC fast-charging capability, with AC charging topping out at 6.6 kW. A 20-to-80% charge takes around two hours on a suitable AC charger, while a regular household outlet needs roughly seven hours for a full recharge. Fortunately, this is the sort of vehicle that encourages you to slow down anyway.

The Moke keeps its classic look, with a flat windshield, simple headlights, chunky bumpers, and small wheels. Buyers can choose from nine colors, including red, blue, yellow and green. There’s also a small storage space under the hood, plus USB-C ports, cup holders, and a simple dashboard.

As a reminder, the original Mini Moke first appeared in Britain in 1964, with production later moving to Australia and Portugal. Today, Moke International builds the electric version in England. The Mk2 will go on sale in Europe and the US for around $47,000. It’s expensive for such a small EV, but the Moke is all about open-air fun, not speed or practicality.
