MG Hector And Hector Plus Get a Subtle Update for 2026
by AutoExpert | 16 December, 2025
The MG Hector has been around for a while now. It came to India in 2019, based on a global model, and quickly became a common sight on the road. In 2022, MG gave it a light update with bolder styling and a large touchscreen to keep things fresh.
MG doesn’t appear to be taking any big risks with its 2026 refresh. The Hector and the longer Hector Plus are a touch larger and they’re also fitted with a few extra bits and pieces. In other words, just enough to let everyone know it hasn’t been forgotten.

Up front, we can see a new grille pattern and some light bumper tweaks. The rear gets a slightly tougher look, but nothing dramatic. If you’ve seen a Hector before, you’ll recognize this one instantly. New 18-inch wheels are available, and there are two fresh colors to choose from: Celadon Blue and Pearl White.

Inside, the big screen is still the star of the show. The new party trick is something MG calls I-Swipe, which lets you control things like volume and climate with finger gestures. It sounds clever on paper. Whether you’ll miss a good old button is another story.

Under the hood, MG sticks with what it knows. The 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine continues, available with either a manual or CVT transmission, and a 2.0-liter diesel is set to join the range soon. Prices start at Rs 11.99 lakh (around $13k), and the Hector continues to square up against familiar faces like the Creta, Harrier, and Scorpio-N.
