Mercedes Electric G-Wagon Discount: $10,000 Off Until Feb 2026
by AutoExpert | 16 January, 2026
When even a luxury icon needs help selling, you know the EV market's gotten weird.
So Mercedes just went from offering $5,000 off the electric G-Class to $10,000. That's double. And look, when a brand like Mercedes starts throwing around five-figure discounts, something's clearly not working.

The catch? This thing still costs over $160,000. So yeah, you're saving ten grand, but you're also still dropping the price of a decent house in some parts of the country on an SUV. The math doesn't exactly make it a steal.
What Are You Even Getting for That Money?
Four electric motors, 579 horsepower, 859 lb-ft of torque. It hits 60 mph in about 4 seconds, which is legitimately quick for something that weighs nearly three tons. Range is around 239 miles.
Now compare that to the Rivian R1S. Over 1,000 horsepower. Does 60 in 2.5 seconds. Goes 400+ miles. Costs $120,000. The BMW iX and Lucid Gravity also crush it on range and don't cost as much. You're basically paying extra just to have that Mercedes badge and the G-Wagon's legendary looks.

The Luxury EV Thing Just Isn't Happening
Mercedes can barely sell 30,000 EQS sedans a year. BYD's outselling Tesla now by making cheaper cars. Mini moved over 100,000 EVs last year without charging insane prices. The message is pretty clear—people want electric cars, they just don't want to go broke buying them.
Mercedes knows this too. They're already planning a cheaper electric G-Wagon for normal humans who don't have oil money.
Will Anyone Actually Care About This Discount?
Probably not many. But if you've been going back and forth between the regular V8 G-Wagon and this electric one, an extra ten grand off might actually matter. Just gotta decide before February 2nd when the deal ends.
