Mercedes-AMG GT Production May Come To A Halt In December

Even though it's a cult classic, Mercedes-AMG GT production will come to an end in December. The AMG GT, a spiritual successor to the SLS AMG, was launched by Mercedes-Benz in 2014. However, as the saying goes, all good things must end at some point, and the car's manufacture will end in December, according to Motor.es.
According to reports, the car's order books have been closed, and the final AMG GT models made will be those ordered earlier. There are no details regarding the car's successor yet.
In reality, it's unclear whether the AMG GT will be replaced, given no prototypes have been spotted and the carmaker hasn't publicly stated that it's working on one. The AMG GT Roadster will be replaced by the new Mercedes-AMG SL, while the future of the AMG GT Coupe remains unknown.
Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series is the final model. It currently holds the record for the fastest production car around the Nurburgring (excluding the Manthey-Racing 911 GT2 RS), clocking in at 6:48.05 over the 20.8 km track. That's thanks to a 4.0-liter V8 motor with twin turbochargers and a flat-plane crank, which makes 720 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm).
