Meet The New 542 HP Maserati GranCabrio—Innovation in Motion

The new GranCabrio, Maserati's drop-top sibling to the GranTurismo, which debuted in 2022, has been unveiled at last. Interestingly, this convertible's Trofeo trim level is the first to offer the potent Nettuno V6 engine. On the other hand, the Folgore, which is entirely electric, will be joining the lineup soon.

For starters, even when traveling at speeds of up to 31 mph, the roof can be quickly retracted in just 14 seconds. The infotainment screen or hand motions make it easy to control the fabric roof.

The soft top is available in five different colors—black, blue marine, titan grey, greige, and garnet—and is designed to provide great thermal and acoustic protection, all while being incredibly comfortable. As you probably already noticed, the Maserati GranCabrio and the GranTurismo share a lot of bodywork, but the GranCabrio has a revised back deck that makes it stand out.

An optional 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, an 8.8-inch touchscreen for climate control, a 12.2-inch instrument cluster, and a head-up display make up the digital cockpit. The model's audio system, which Sonus Faber designed, has 13 speakers as standard and can accommodate up to 16 speakers with the 1,060 watt option. Maserati included a standard neck warmer with three strength settings for the driver and front passenger in the new GranCabrio to enhance the driving experience.

Even though it's only practical for two-seaters, there's an optional wind-stopper that lessens cabin turbulence. This particular Maserati GranCabrio features a remarkable combination of dark blue exterior paint and bright red inside upholstery. Meanwhile, the Trofeo trim level adds a more aggressive front and rear bumper, an abundance of carbon fiber accents, and blacked-out multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Under the hood, you'll find Maserati's 3.0-liter V6 Nettuno engine, which, in its most powerful form, produces 542 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. Then, there is an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The topless Maserati GranCabriot takes 3.6 seconds to get from 0 to 62 mph, and it can reach a maximum speed of 196 mph. A variant of the V6 with 483 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque will likely be available on the GranCabrio as well.

The addition of a completely electric GranCabrio Folgore to Maserati's zero-emission portfolio has also been confirmed. As with the GranTurismo Folgore, this one is likely to include a tri-motor configuration, with a total of 751 horsepower. Maserati is expected to reveal the price of the new GranCabrio Trofeo in the months leading up to its release to the public.
