Australia’s rugged landscapes are now the playground for the latest off-road warrior—the Isuzu D-Max Blade, a bold new midsize truck created in collaboration with Walkinshaw Automotive Group. This version, developed over three intense years, isn’t just about flashy looks; it's built to handle real off-road challenges.

And unlike many premium rivals, the D-Max Blade sticks to a reasonable price point while delivering genuine capability. Walkinshaw meticulously designed and tested the Blade over 100,000 km of rough terrain to ensure its exceptional durability.

The redesigned satin-black grille with an integrated LED light bar and a solid red scuff plate at the front not only give it a fierce look but serve a practical purpose, with the Isuzu name proudly displayed and dual recovery points up front. From the side, the Blade sports wide fender flares and aggressive Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac RT tires on 17-inch alloy wheels, giving it a lifted stance with 244 mm of ground clearance.

Thanks to its custom-tuned 35mm twin-tube dampers, the Blade promises a smooth yet steady off-road experience. Power-wise, it keeps the 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine at its stock output—187 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque—paired with a six-speed automatic, which Walkinshaw says was a deliberate move to keep the price in check while still meeting performance demands.

Inside, the Isuzu D-Max Blade remains sleek and understated, with subtle Blade branding on the headrests, floor mats, and door sills, plus a numbered build plaque on the gear knob and in the engine bay to mark its exclusive status. When it hits dealerships in Australia on November 1 for AU$76,990 (about US$51,024), the Blade will be a standout choice for off-road enthusiasts looking for quality and ruggedness at a more accessible price.
