McLaren's Triumphant Return to the 2024 World Endurance Championship and Le Mans

Reviving a legacy that etched one of motorsport's most captivating narratives, McLaren is gearing up for a grand return to the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024—a stage it hasn't graced since 1998.

Following the legendary win in '95 with the F1 GTR, McLaren has now set its sights on the World Endurance Championship, having secured the green light from the FIA and ACO.

2024 World Endurance Championship

While not vying for the top-tier glory that Ferrari clinched in 2023 with its 499P, McLaren is setting its ambitions on the newly minted LMGT3 class, replacing the GTE Am category. The battleground will be fierce, with the 720S GT3 Evo poised to take on stalwarts like the Aston Martin Vantage, Lamborghini Huracan, and others.

2024 World Endurance Championship

United Autosports, a team with a winning pedigree, is joining forces with McLaren to field two 720S GT3s, numbered 59 and 24, in a heartfelt homage to McLaren's triumphant past. Inception Racing, the client team, is set to present a third contender at Le Mans, adding to the marque's presence.

2024 World Endurance Championship

McLaren's re-engagement with endurance racing isn't just about reliving past glories; it's a testament to the brand's commitment to infusing road cars with race-bred supremacy—a principle that McLaren customers have come to anticipate and cherish.

2024 World Endurance Championship

CEO Michael Leiters expresses confidence in the upcoming season, entrusting United Autosports, with their notable success including a 2020 Le Mans win in the LMP2 class, to represent McLaren's racing endeavors. With a history of competition and victories with McLaren's MP4-12C GT3 and 570S, this alliance is a strategic step towards a riveting and possibly victorious 2024 campaign.
