McLaren LM5 Brings The Drama And The Elegance Of McLaren F1 Into A Whole New Perspective!

Matt Williams, a graduate of Coventry University, chose to create the McLaren LM5 concept as his final graduation work.
The aim was to obtain a car that would bring the drama and the elegance of McLaren F1 into a whole new perspective, something that McLaren's MP4-12C supercar failed to realize.
Due to the fact that we are speaking about an F1 car, the entire design was focused on enhancing the on-track functionality. The chassis is even more extreme than the previous McLaren models, bringing the brand into the 21st century.

LM5 fits 3 people, the driver, and two passengers, the latter being placed in the back of the centrally positioned driver seat. All three seats are ultra-light so that they don't burden the car's weight unnecessarily. The driver has a multifunctional steering wheel, working along with a tachometer.

Williams sees this concept working with a 5 liters V10 engine, provided by BMW. The carbon fiber chassis would certainly contribute to achieving better performances.
The fact that both the past and the present McLaren features are blended in this concept makes us believe that there are chances for this concept to become reality someday.
