McLaren goes retro with the 650S Can Am!

Kind of a surprise that McLaren would unveil a nostalgic 650S Can-Am variation. They tend to be forward-looking, calculated, and a bit tense car maker so we are surprised that they went retro with this nostalgic 650S.
It is a very exclusive and limited edition car based on the 1960's Can-Am racing cars but that is only on the skin, underneath is a state of the art McLaren. It is their attempt to honor their elders in the industry and at the same time a way to look at how future McLaren products might evolve.
It is being produced in three different variants as you will see in the photos, which pay homage to Can-Am. The Mars Red color was presented when the car was launched and the two other color variations have just been shown.
