Maserati Aims For Revival With Italy-Exclusive Grecale Alba Edition

Maserati has faced serious setbacks this year, including a 60% sales drop and some pointed critiques from Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares. Now, the Italian brand is hoping to revive interest with the Grecale Alba, a special edition of its Grecale SUV. But will this limited-release model make enough of an impact?

The Grecale Alba, exclusive to Italy, builds on the Grecale GT, Maserati’s entry-level SUV. While making a more appealing base model could boost interest, the Alba’s limited availability may not help sales as much as Maserati hopes.

Maserati launched this model with a single, low-resolution photo that feels oddly retro in today’s high-definition era. Visually, the Alba sets itself apart with features like 20-inch Etere alloy wheels, LED Matrix headlights, a sunroof, and quad exhaust pipes. It’s available in three shades—Bianco Astro, Grigio Lava, and Nero Tempesta—paired with black leather interiors.

The Maserati Grecale Alba looks similar to a GT variant Maserati showcased in the UK, albeit with distinct details like chrome accents. Inside, the Alba offers an upgraded set of features, including a Surround View Camera, wireless charging, a head-up display, and a premium Sonus Faber sound system with 14 speakers. These additions give the limited-edition model a more luxurious edge over the base GT.

Performance-wise, the Alba runs on the same 2.0-liter turbocharged mild-hybrid engine as the Grecale GT, producing 247 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. With an eight-speed automatic transmission, it hits 0-62 mph in 6.3 seconds and can reach a top speed of 142 mph.

Priced at €92,300 ($98,100), the Maserati Grecale Alba costs slightly more than the €86,600 ($92,000) base GT and the more powerful Grecale Modena, which starts at €91,600 ($97,300). Maserati has yet to disclose the exact number of Alba units it will produce.
