The special edition Ferrari 812 Special Edition has its official names now - the new 812 Competizione and its open-top version, the Competizione A. The main goal for the 812 editions is to show what a V12 engine can do under the hood of a Ferrari.

The new Ferrari 812 Competizione got an upgraded version of the naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine delivering up to 818 horsepower along with a 9,500 rpm though it has a reduced torque down to 695 Newton-meter. The engine is coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission reaching 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint from an in just 2.85 seconds, and a 211 mph (340 km/h) top speed.

The engine revisions also include a lighter and rebalanced crankshaft while the intake now features variable geometry inlet tracts. Add to that a new exhaust system that, despite having a mandatory petrol particulate filter for Europe, makes the Ferrari V12 scream as ferociously as ever. Featuring a new exhaust with rectangular pipes mounted at either end of the bumper, and a full-width rear diffuser. The “perfect aerodynamic synergy” is ensured by the giant new diffuser guaranteeing the maximum downforce possible over the rear axle.

Porsche designed a front spoiler with a passive mobile aero system, which opens at speeds over 155 mph (250 km/h), offering the new Competizione with improved cooling flow management. The most striking features include three pairs of protruding elements that improve the vortex generators to become more powerful. Other so-called “go-faster components” include the brand’s latest Side Slip Control v. 7.0, an independent rear-wheel steering system, a new electronic management system, and a set of bespoke all-carbon-fiber wheels wrapped in Michelin Cup 2 R tires.

While the new 812 Competizione and Competizione A models target especially the brand’s top exclusive group of collectors and enthusiasts of the noblest of Ferrari traditions. More detail s will be revealed later.
