Muscle cars became famous not only because of their powerful V8 engines but also because of their distinctive styling. This is especially true when it comes to the iconic Pontiac GTO. It is a vehicle built on mystique, exclusivity, and a nice design.

When it comes to muscle cars, it might be tough to tell them apart if you are not a fan. All of them, even today, have the same old-fashioned body form. If you're looking for a HEMI Cuda or Dodge Charger that was built in a specific year, you'll need to check at the headlights, taillights, and trim.

It's the same with the GTO. Pontiac's creation included quad headlights that were vertically stacked at the same time the Mustang was blossoming. Naturally, the fenders aren't quite as square as they used to be. With these things in mind, we rarely witness anything creative.

When artist Brad Builds designed Darth Vader's evil GTO a few years ago, he recognized this. A floating muscle vehicle, on the other hand, is difficult to take seriously. Now this is what we are talking about! One feature that separates old muscle cars from new ones is the widebody kit.

As well as the stock body packages that Dodge utilizes on the Chargers and Challengers, there is also a slew of wacky add-ons that are influenced by Japanese tuning. Clinched or Shirokai are the key topics of discussion. There's no doubt that it will leave a lasting impression on the muscle car community. As of right now, the only thing you can do with a Pontiac GTO is to find one in a barn and clean it up.

Everything about this Pontiac GTO is unique, starting with the ominous dark metallic finish. To reach the bumpers, it is wrapped around the large front and rear fender extensions. We're reminded of Riley Stair's wide and low 1970 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, which was completely caged in and capable of spinning to 10,000rpm.

They took advantage of this by having a significantly lower suspension and tires that were wide enough for a race vehicle. GTO purists will despise it, but anyone with a Shirokai kit will enjoy it.
