Lexus Wants To Prove That An Electrified Sportscar Is Possible

Lexus decided to make a new commitment and this time it is towards their own future - to build a future line-up for the electrified sportscar. The brand's future hasn't yet fulfilled its model ranges for the next years. Yes, they would like to give another chance to the LC Series. Now, what does this mean?

The LC 500 sportscar will play its planned role in the future line-up of the electrified powertrains which are scheduled to be done by 2025. Their project of 10 electrified models will be built on electric, hybrid, and/or plug-in hybrid powertrains in 4 years. 

The latest unveiled LF-Z concept along with the current UX 300e is the first one to show what the first Lexus full electric vehicle with a dedicated platform might look like. Focused over the last years on developing and expanding its SUV line-up, it still will offer halo models like the LC 500 mentioned above.

According to Tasaghi-san, the Japanese automaker wants to offer their customers more emotional vehicle "offering engagement between driver, passenger and car" and without mentioning any specification, he mentioned that", towards 2025 they will be working on such a vehicle for the future.

Starting from 2025, Lexus will be able to offer its models in an electrified version which would be a dream come true for the brand's fans - who also want to contribute to ensuring a safe car for the environment. Also, Togashi is both a realist and an optimist, and believes that the future performance models will have at least "some form of the electrified powertrain."
