Lexus Made a Drivable Origami Car!

Even if it's made from cardboard the car can be driven on the roads, said Lexus. They used 1,700 of used cardboard to make this functional vehicle.

The base model for the Origami Car was the IS sedan. They used 10-mm thick pieces that virtually cover/replace every body part. This was in fact easy to do, as they simply created a 3D model of the IS and then used laser knives to cut the cardboard. They applied glue to hold the parts together.

I've designers needed 3 months to complete the project and in the video below you can see the Origami Car driving at slow speed.

here is not much info about the "technical specs" of the car but we assume it is powered by an electric motor and has an aluminum frame.
