Lexus LF Flagship SUV Took A Few Steps Back

The Japanese automaker is pursuing the goal to bring on the market its most expensive SUV - the Lexus LF-1 Limitless model. In 2018, the introduction of the concept itself was a huge success mostly welcomed by enthusiasts at the Detroit Auto Show event, and recently they announced that they decided to reschedule this year's official debut for 2023.

Seems like the delay has nothing to do with the pandemic, stating that the development of the promised 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 for both IS F and LS F models is taking way much longer than previously anticipated. Lexus' team of technicians and engineers wants to make sure that the new engine delivers the promised 660 horsepower. So the waiting will be worth it because the automaker chose to rather deliver the performance than respecting the terms. This speaks out about their dedication to their customers.

We know that a 3.5-liter V6 hybrid, which will also be available for the LF-1, can produce 354 horsepower and a 348 pick of torque on previous LS 500h models. Studying the shared TNGA-L platform, the LF is expected to measure 206 inches in length, 74 inches in width, and 62 inches in height. This way, the LF-1 could claim the title of the automaker's largest Lexus SUV.

The customers expect Lexus to keep the concept's name and optional two or three rows. More details about the model will be released next week, on March 30 since there are rumors about a mysterious concept that looks just like a sleek SUV with an all-electric powertrain or an updated LF-1 concept to tease the concept's fans.

Achieving it won't be cheap because first- this is a Lexus we're talking about and secondly, there's a conversion price that isn't quite straight from the Japanese original price. We presume it'll cost between $138,000 - $184,000 at the current exchange rates. More details will be revealed next week.
