Lexus Is Embracing The All-Electric Trend With A e-TNGA Platform

After announcing that the Japanese automaker is going for the all-electric trend with its LF-Z Concept, the long-expected e-TNGA platform is no surprise at all. Earlier this week, Lexus announced that the first dedicated battery-electric vehicle will debut officially next year.

We also, expect more than just the LF-Z lettering added to its official name. It’s no wonder that the luxurious Japanese automotive brand wants to launch an EV crossover instead of other kinds of labeled vehicles for more rates on the market. Also, Lexus plans to launch at least 20 new improved electric vehicles, and at least 10 would be EVs, PHEVs, even hybrids.

Lexus is ready to invest more in the electrified models and expects more demands than the previous pure combustion-engined counterparts within the next couple of years. With these constant evolutions and modern take towards the electrification automotive industry, Lexus might achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

These future product announcements were totally influenced by the fact that Lexus already sold 2 million electrified vehicles globally since 2005. If you don’t remember, their first electrified Lexus model was the RX400h - this is still the best-selling model. More details will be revealed in the coming months and we’ll know for sure the official name of the futuristic all-electric vehicle.
