Lewis Hamilton Betrays His Commitment To Drive Only EVs, Observed On Pagani Zonda

Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time F1 champion expressed his intention to be more ecologically friendly in an interview with Reuters in September 2020, in an attempt to balance the large carbon footprint caused by Formula 1 cars. However, he was recently observed driving his one-of-a-kind Pagani Zonda 760 LH.

Hamilton wants to be taken to and from airports in an electric car, in addition to adopting a vegan diet and selling his plane. Not only that, but he told Reuters, "I don't drive any of the autos that I own longer. I exclusively drive my (electric Mercedes) EQC." He also has a Smart EQ ForTwo in his normally gas-guzzling fleet as his other zero-emissions cars. 

"It's the greatest car I own, but handling-wise it's the worst," he previously said of his Zonda. "I purchased it in manual as I didn't like the Tiptronic variant."

F1 is on a three-week break until the Belgian Grand Prix on August 29, so Hamilton appears to take advantage of his time off. Monaco seems to be his preferred destination, as this isn't the first time cameras have captured him driving his AMG-powered supercar there. While Hamilton has large real estate holdings, he calls Monaco home.

In Hamilton's favor, his traditionally aspirated 7.3-liter V12 engine isn't racking up the kilometers because, given his hectic schedule, we're pretty sure he seldom has the time to drive it. He probably shouldn't have made that pledge last year, especially given he has a lot of followers.
