Lancia enthusiasts have reason to be excited as the brand makes a return with the upcoming Ypsilon, marking the first new product since 2011! We get an unmasked glimpse of the car thanks to a video from the Masera Facebook page, which was most likely taken during a promotional shoot using an Alfa Romeo Stelvio camera car.

The footage provides a comprehensive view of the new Ypsilon, showcasing design influences from the Pu-Ra HPE concept and iconic models like the 037 and Stratos. The city car boasts a sharp and distinctive front end, yet keen observers will notice shared design elements with other Stellantis products, including the Opel Corsa and Peugeot 208, owing to shared underpinnings among Lancia, Peugeot, Citroen, and Opel.

Excitingly, the Ypsilon is set to offer hybrid and fully electric powertrains. Following the lead of the Corsa and 208, the electric version is expected to feature a 52-kilowatt-hour battery pack and a single electric motor on the front axle, delivering a peak output of 156 horsepower.

This marks a significant increase in power compared to the current Ypsilon, which sports a 70-hp hybridized three-cylinder engine. The current-generation Ypsilon, launched in 2011 and facelifted multiple times, is still available in Italy. The imminent arrival of the new Ypsilon signals a fresh chapter for Lancia, bringing modern powertrain options and design influences from both its own heritage and shared platforms within the Stellantis family.
