Lancia has just revealed its strategic plan for the next decade. The journey begins in 2024 with the introduction of the new Ypsilon, continues in 2026 with the arrival of the flagship Gamma EV, and concludes in 2028 with an all-electric Delta.

The automaker has confirmed that the upcoming Ypsilon will be available in both fully electric and hybrid versions. However, starting in 2026, Lancia will exclusively introduce new EVs, and by 2028, their entire lineup will be composed solely of electric models.

This means that the hybrid Ypsilon will have a relatively brief lifespan, lasting just four years. In 2026, Lancia is gearing up to introduce its inaugural exclusive electric vehicle, to be produced at Stellantis' Melfi facility in Italy. Measuring approximately 185 inches in length, it will be a vehicle of similar dimensions to a BMW 4-series. Lancia's CEO, Luca Napolitano, has confirmed that it will take on the revered Gamma nameplate. "Our second flagship car, scheduled for a 2026 debut, will bear the name Gamma," affirmed Napolitano.

Napolitano also stated, "The flagship of Casa Lancia will be a splendid and sophisticated Italian car, with a striking exterior and an interior that exudes the warmth of an Italian home's living room. The STLA Medium platform is an ideal fit for Lancia, as a native BEV will be highly efficient and ensure a high level of comfort, offering both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions."

Thanks to this platform, Lancia anticipates that the flagship model will achieve an impressive 435 miles of range on a single charge. The company also anticipates that 50% of the EV's sales will come from European countries outside of Italy.
