Lamborghini Urus Recalled Because Of Faulty Child Restraint System

According to a safety recall issued by the Italian automaker, Urus cars constructed between December 11, 2020 and June 25, 2021 may have been fitted with improper Autoliv Group seat belt parts.

As a result, Lamborghini is recalling 224 Urus models in the United States. Urus seat assemblies contain an automated locking retractor that may disconnect early and were manufactured between October 26, 2020 and January 27, 2021.

These seat belts, according to Lamborghini, are fine in everyday use. If an owner chooses to secure a child restraint system with the seat belt rather than the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system, the assembly will not be able to hold the child seat firmly, thus increasing the risk of injury to a kid in the case of an accident.

Seat belt's automatic locking retractor function may stop before the webbing is removed, according to the recall. There have been no incidents related to the problem that Lamborghini is aware of.

Defective Urus models are being recalled to dealerships, where the vulnerable seat belt assemblies will be examined and, if required, fixed free of charge. The recall will be announced to dealerships on October 1, the same day it will be announced to owners of affected vehicles.
