It seems like some of the powerful 2021 Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne GTS or Turbo, even Audi vehicles have been recalled in North America in three separate campaigns due to some engine errors. As usual, the Lamborghini Urus took the lead on this list.

There appears to be a problem discovered on 4 units that were built between October 6 and 21, 2020, in Sant’Agata Bolognese. The issue concerns the fact that these SUVs may develop cracks on the surface of the engine cylinder bore. It’s dangerous because it could cause damage to the block, making the passenger risk fire and sudden loss of power, and oil leakage.

According to an NHTSA document, the issue was recently discovered after a temporary process error at the supplier (Nemak Europe in Germany) during the casting process of the species affected engine blocks during a specific period of time. It’s more specifically, temporarily misalignment of the automated mold-extrusion stamp occurred in the casting plant. The issue will be taken care of by the dealers that will replace the affected engines without charge.

Audi comes second with its 15 units of the 2021 Audi RS6, RS7, SQ7, SQ8, and RS Q8 vehicles that have the same problem. Yes, this is again engines build by the Nemak plant. Along comes the 12 units of the 2021 Porsche Cayenne Turbo, Cayenne GTS, and Cayenne GTS Coupe. These models will have their engines replaced under the same conditions as the Urus. Concerned owners can contact the automaker’s official numbers to find out more about the issue.
