Lada 4x4 will receive a diesel engine after 38 years of production!

Even if it is an outdated model from every viewpoint, Lada 4x4 or Niva as it is known among the people finally will get a diesel engine.
It seems that the Russians from AutoVAZ are not going to take this model off the assembly line, even if the rumors have been circulating for some time. Moreover, they continue to improve it and the latest "innovation" represents a diesel engine of Fiat origin! It's about the 1.3-liter engine volume that has more power versions. For the Niva has chosen the weaker version of 85 hp, and 180 Nm. We remind that this engine can be found on Fiat and Alfa Romeo models.
No one knows exactly when it will the Lada 4X4 diesel be launched into production because the tests are in the process of deployment, but most likely that this will happen in 2015.
In autumn of the 2014, AvtoVAZ has launched the Niva Urban, another version of the old Niva which has the windows and mirrors electrically operated.
