Kingston Customs' 'Good Ghost' 1980 BMW R100 RS Is A Must-See

For the past four years, Dirk Oehlerking of Kingston Customs has been showcasing his art deco-inspired BMW-based "White Phantom," which he then quickly followed with the even more elegant and sophisticated "Black Phantom." With the all-new 1980 BMW R100 RS "Good Ghost," the legendary custom maker has finished his two-wheeled trio for 2020.

The project was sponsored by the Haas Moto Museum in Dallas, Texas, and came to be known as a 1980 BMW R100 RS. Since then, it has received several BMW parts from Dirk's extensive collection of BMW pieces.

Good Ghost has a more traditional streamliner look, with a front fairing that extends over the handcrafted clip-on and a single-piece brown leatherette and suede saddle that runs the length of the bike and sports a stacked quad analog instrument display just below the top triple.

The whole thing is hinged and can be folded up to reveal storage space, as well as a tool and a mess kit hidden in the back wheel covers. On the front, you'll find a kidney grille reminiscent of the BMW 2002, while on the back, you'll find a lengthy set of horizontal exhaust pipes that reach a consensus.
