Global markets, including the United States and Europe, will soon be able to purchase the brand-new EV3, which Kia introduced just recently. With its technology and 373 miles of WLTP driving range, this subcompact SUV is sure to wow.

The production-ready Kia EV3 takes design influences from the EV9 flagship and appears quite similar to the concept from last year. Modified bumpers, larger pillars, traditional mirrors, and mildly adjusted LEDs are all examples of the toned-down characteristics.

Kia also showed us the GT-Line trim, which is essentially the basic model but with sharper bumpers and unique alloy wheels. A drag coefficient of 0.267 cd is a result of the aerodynamic design and the 3D underbody cover. The EV3 has dimensions of 4,300 mm (169.3 in) in length, 1,850 mm (72.8 in) in width, and 1,560 mm (61.4 in) in height, with a wheelbase of 2,680 mm (105.5 in).

In comparison to the e-Soul and e-Niro, the EV3 is 105 mm (4 inches) longer and 120 mm (4.7 inches) shorter, respectively, when comparing Kia goods. With its dimensions, it competes head-on with other subcompact SUVs in Europe, such as the Smart #1, the Mini Aceman, the Volvo EX30, and the Peugeot E-2008. The inside is sleek and modern, with features usually reserved for more spacious vehicles.

On the digital panel, you may find a 12.3-inch infotainment display, an instrument cluster, and a 5-inch touchscreen for temperature settings. The dashboard features only a few physical controls and shortcuts, while the majority of buttons are conveniently located on the steering wheel for easy access. In addition to the "fold-back relaxation mode" of the front seats, the center console features efficient storage compartments and a sliding table for use when the car is in a stopped state.

In addition to a 460-liter (16.2 cubic feet) trunk and a 25-liter (0.9 cubic feet) trunk, the electric vehicle has seating for five people. Moreover, Kia uses eco-friendly upholstery materials inside, including recycled cloth and polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The Kia EV3, which uses the popular E-GMP platform but has a 400-volt design, comes with two battery choices and one electric motor. The Long Range version has a bigger 81.4 kWh battery, whereas the regular model has a 58.3 kWh one.

In comparison to other EVs of comparable size, the latter boasts an impressive 373 miles of projected WLTP range. Furthermore, a quick charger, operating at a 128 kW charging rate, can charge the larger battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 31 minutes. With only one electric motor, you can get 201 horsepower and 209 lb-ft of torque. According to Kia, the EV3 can reach a peak speed of 106 mph and can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 7.5 seconds.

The future holds an upgraded Kia EV3 GT, a performance-oriented model with more power and a revised chassis, which will join the range. Cost and accessibility In July, the Kia EV3 will make its premiere in Korea, the car's native market. The UK and Europe will launch it in the second half of 2024. Kia plans to introduce the EV4 sedan and the EV2, a more compact crossover, to the European market in late 2025 or early 2026, with prices ranging from $30,000 to $35,000.
