2025 Kia Bongo Gets A Major Upgrade With New Features And Enhanced Comfort

Although it has been on the market since 1980, Kia's less-than-popular Bongo truck is finally receiving some love from the Korean automaker. More features, like cruise control and power folding mirrors, are now standard on the 2025 Kia Bongo, which is available with either two or four doors.

A redesigned parking brake lever, chrome door knobs, and twitters are among the inside upgrades seen in the higher specification levels. A fire extinguisher is standard equipment on all vehicles.

Small enterprises can consider the Bongo as an automatic transmission driver-training vehicle. There are two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options available on the Kia truck, and the maximum payload is 2,645 pounds. The bed's length is 112.5 inches, along with a width of 64.1 inches, and a length of 203 inches.

Over the years, Kia has upgraded the vehicle's interior to include contemporary comforts like a 10.25-inch touchscreen system, and a ventilated driver's seat. From lane departure warning to forward collision avoidance help and beyond, Kia has equipped it with a plethora of safety technologies. An automated gearbox sends 157 horsepower and 217 pound-feet of torque from a 2.5-liter engine that uses liquefied petroleum gas to the wheels.

The manual mode reduces the output to 136 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque. For those looking for an all-electric Bongo, Kia offers one with 181 horsepower and 291 pound-feet of torque. The electric vehicle can go 131 miles on a single charge from its 58.8 kWh battery pack. Charging the battery from 10 to 80 percent at 100 kW takes 47 minutes.

The basic model has a lesser payload capacity of 2,200 lbs rather than 2,645 lbs, and it begins at $14,700. The most powerful one, in its most expensive trim, costs less than $18,500. If you'd rather not use a gas engine, the Bongo EV, which is only available with two wheels of drive, starts at $31,700 and goes up to $33,000.
