Renowned Japanese designer Ken Okuyama, who gained recognition for his contributions to the legendary Ferrari Enzo, unveiled his most recent masterpiece at the esteemed Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. The Kode61 Birdcage is a limited-production, open-top supercar that draws inspiration from the famed Maserati Birdcage model.

The Kode61 Birdcage is a stunning masterpiece that takes inspiration from the legendary Maserati Tipo 61 racecar, which graced the tracks from 1959 to 1961, and the futuristic Maserati Birdcage 75th concept of 2005.

Kode61 Birdcage

Okuyama's interpretation boasts a sleek, open-air design that showcases a roofless body and a windshield-free front, allowing the passengers to fully immerse themselves in the driving experience. Behold the magnificent supercar with its strikingly bulging fenders, razor-sharp front and rear ends, and half-doors that open upwards with a flourish.

The three-spoke alloy wheels are a nod to the iconic Maserati MC20 supercar, adding a touch of sophistication and style. Step into the car and be transported back in time with the vintage-inspired dashboard. The sleek and shiny elements catch your eye, while the gated manual shifter adds a touch of nostalgia. The analog instrument cluster is a classic feature that never goes out of style, and the passenger-facing screen is a modern twist on a timeless design.

Ken Okuyama has revealed that this supercar will not remain a mere design study. The Kode61 Birdcage will be brought to life in a limited quantity, crafted by skilled hands at the prestigious Yamagata factory in Japan. The cost of this exceptional build has not been revealed yet, but it is expected to come with a luxurious price tag.
