Kandi K32 Is A 28-HP Electric UTV For Off-Road Purposes

An off-road electric vehicle that looks like a pickup truck but is actually a non-street-legal UTV has been unveiled by Kandi America, the US arm of China-based Kandi Technologies Group. It's Kandi's third model in the US, following the K23 and the K27 that debuted in 2020.

The dual-cab design, high ground clearance, noticeable fenders, and spacious rear bed give the Kandi K32 the appearance of a compact pickup truck from the outside. Dual electric motors with a combined output of 28 hp (21 kW / 29 PS) drive all four wheels.

Kandi

With this much power, Kandi claims a peak speed of 65 mph (105 km/h), but no acceleration data were provided. The K32 comes in two versions: a standard model with a 20.7 kWh battery that allows for a 60-mile (97-km) range, and a long-range model with a bigger 50 kWh battery that allows for a 150-mile (241-km) range. A complete charge from a 240V/32A outlet takes 7.5 hours, according to the official web page.

Kandi

The curb weight of 4,089 lbs (1,855 kg) seems to be fairly substantial for a vehicle of this size, with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 5,357 lbs (2,430 kg) restricting cargo capacity. However, there is adequate space inside for up to 4 persons. The dashboard materials are simple, while the center console is occupied by a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen and an instrument panel.

Kandi

Two airbags, a rearview camera, a battery protection system, ABS, and EBD are among the standard features. In the United States, the base-spec K32 costs $27,699 without state incentives, while the long-range model costs $34,499. Kandi America offers a three-year or 36k-mile standard coverage guarantee, as well as a five-year or 30k-mile lithium-ion battery warranty.

Kandi

Kandi K32 will be marketed via the Powersports dealer network, with delivery beginning in early 2022.
