Several enhancements to the Jeep Gladiator and Wrangler models for 2022 have been confirmed. Although the improvements are slight, the entry-level Sport trims will no more seem bare-bones, since the small 5-inch infotainment system has been substantially replaced.

On anything other than two-door Wrangler Sports without air conditioning, purchasers will get a bigger and more sophisticated 7-inch display. When it comes to infotainment systems, the Wrangler Sahara and Rubicon now arrive with an 8.4-inch touchscreen display as standard equipment.

A nine-speaker Alpine audio system and an 8.4-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation are now standard on the Gladiator Overland, Rubicon, and Mojave. The Wrangler Sahara and Rubicon, as well as the Gladiator Overland, Rubicon, and Mojave, now include a passive entry system. In addition, regardless of trim, both models get a new standard cabin air purifier that filters 95% of particles. Finally, Silver Zynith replaces Billet Silver on both models.

Whereas the Gladiator's enhancements stop there, the Wrangler's Sahara 4xe plug-in hybrid now has blue tow hooks and blue highlights on the wheels as standard equipment. Upgraded 20-inch wheels and side mirrors with incorporated turn signals are also available for the High Altitude 4xe.

Moreover, off-roaders will appreciate the Rubicon's 4.88 axle ratio, which allows for a factory-installed crawl ratio of 100:1. It will be provided on models with a six-speed manual transmission and a 3.6-liter V6 engine at first, but will later be available with an eight-speed automatic transmission too. The 2022 Jeep Wrangler starts at $29,725 and the Gladiator starts at $35,610, both without the $1,595 destination cost.
