Last year, Jeep made a splash with its debut electric vehicle, and now they’re upping the ante. The lineup has expanded to include the new Avenger e-Hybrid, equipped with a mildly electrified 1.2-liter powertrain and the option of a stunning Open-Air Sky Roof.

This model also utilizes Stellantis' mild-hybrid technology, a system shared with Opel, Peugeot, and Citroen.

Avenger e-Hybrid

The e-Hybrid’s powertrain comprises a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine, an integrated electric motor in the new 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox (e-DCS6), and a 48-volt lithium-ion battery. The petrol engine delivers 99 HP and 151 lb-ft of torque, while the electric motor adds 30 HP and 41 lb-ft.

Jeep Avenger isn't a full hybrid, but it can still cruise in EV-only mode for up to 0.6 miles at speeds up to 19 km/h, and even execute silent, engine-off parking maneuvers when the battery allows. The MHEV promises a fuel consumption of 5.1 lt/100 km and a 15% reduction in CO2 emissions.

Currently, the SUV is available only in a front-wheel drive configuration, but Jeep offers driving modes like Sand, Mud, Sport, Snow, Eco, and Normal for enhanced traction on various terrains.

Apart from the new engine, the Jeep Avenger e-Hybrid also boasts some fresh features, including a leather-wrapped massaging driver’s seat and the much-talked-about Open-Air Sky Roof. Visually, the MHEV differs from its EV counterpart with a tailpipe and a green “e” badge on the tailgate.

Avenger e-Hybrid

The tech-savvy model rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities, privacy glass, full LED lights, and ambient lighting.

Avenger e-Hybrid

Available in Longitude, Summit, and Altitude trims, the Jeep Avenger e-Hybrid is set to hit all European markets by the end of November, with pricing details to be announced closer to the launch date.
