Jeep Installs A 200-HP Variant Of The Dodge Hornet's Motor In The 2023 Compass

In 2023, the Jeep Compass will get a new selection of engines that includes a de-tuned version of the 2.0-liter turbo engine that will power the next Dodge Hornet.
Instead of the 2.4-liter naturally aspirated engine that produced 177 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque, the 2023 Jeep Compass will feature a 2.0-liter direct injection turbocharged inline-four that generates 200 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, a boost of 23 horsepower and 49 pound-feet of torque.
When installed in the Dodge Hornet, however, this motor will produce 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Note that Jeep has discontinued the front-wheel drive variant and replaced it with a new 2.0-L turbocharged engine that comes standard throughout the range and is mated with an eight-speed gearbox.
In addition to the aforementioned features, the newJeep Compass now comes standard with automatic high-beam headlights and new 17-inch wheels for the Sport and Latitude trims. The base price of a Compass for the 2023 model year is $31,590 (an increase of $1,210 over the 2022 base price). The first quarter of 2023 will see the arrival of all five possible 4x4 trim combinations, including the Sport, Latitude LUX, Limited, and the Trail Rated Trailhawk.
