It's Possible To Install A Corvette Engine In Your Tesla Model S After All

Call him a wounded evil genius, an eccentric entrepreneur, a ruthless businessman, or a spoiled brat with an ego and an attitude. Elon Musk is unconcerned with what others say about him. To put it another way, Musk is second only to Amazon's Jeff Bezos in terms of polarizing the Western corporate world.

Musk hates it when strangers tinker with his automobiles without his specific approval. Imagine Musk's reaction when a guy began installing an LS V8 in one of his Tesla Model S automobiles.

To learn more about Elon Musk's secretive machinery, Rich Rebuilds on YouTube has made a career out of fiddling with them. Elon Musk is infamously antagonistic to third-party mechanics, almost absurdly so. He's also made a habit of snubbing government recalls for stuff like airbags. Want to buy Tesla parts from the dealer directly? Better assure them you're not trying to edit it or do any of your own work, or they'll be upset.

To acquire a set of plastic wheel nut covers, Rich found himself being interrogated about his intentions. The VIN can be banned from Tesla's exclusive fast charge network if the carmaker suspects you of fixing a salvage-titled Tesla car. Forcing a car out of the network is something they can and have done before. He has dispatched swarms of lawyers after independent retailers who reject Musk's demands and try to hack back into the network without his explicit permission.

Of course, Teslas have been mocked up with V8 engines and exhaust pipes before. But to truly gut a rescued Tesla, remove the existing electric drivetrain, and install a growling, thumping fantastic GM LS from a 2011 Camaro. For the build, 2 salvaged Tesla Model S were needed, one with flooded electric motors and one with recycled structural components. The video shows him and his hired hands successfully installing the engine and gearbox into the Model S's front. Anyone who can overcome Tesla's harsh and immoral business tactics is Rich.
