Its Official! Stellantis Launched Hydrogen Plug-In Hybrid

Stellantis has made quite an impression by focusing on including the plug-in hydrogen van on their vehicle range. Now there's more to the usual zero-emisions light commercial vehicles and they're on the right path. the PH vans will be available for their clients in retailers such as Citroen, Peugeot and Vaxaul. So, pretty much everywhere.

The Stellantis uses the same architecture as the Citroen Dispatched, Peugeot Expert and Vauxhall Vivaro battery-electric versions. This way the mid-size van can store up to 4.4 km of liquid hydrogen at a pressure of 700 bar, along with the additional 10.5 kWh battery that is housed under the seats. If you wonder, the rest of the fuel cell system and the electric motor are within the engine bay.

An upgraded battery element borrowed from Stellantis' plug-in hybrid vans can be fully charged in just an hour at a rate of 11 kW. The battery range  is 30 miles (48 km) on solely use only. The maximum output for the mid-size-van is 135 horsepower and 260 Newton-meter of torque. The Stellantis plug-in hydrogen van can reach 0-62 mph (0-100 km) in 15 seconds which is a very good perfomance.

This company is taking as a good advice their customers demands - they implied that more range would be better for their vans, so Stellantis decided to try and do some research about it and the clients were right. Besides, the request wasn't an impossible one. Studies showed that 83% of their customers drive less that 125 miles per day, while 44% drive more than 185 miles  daily. So, the request for more range and time economy on charging is a must-have if they wanted to keep their clients.

In UK, of course, the launch presented the left-hand-drive versions. Being it an EV, PHEV or a simple van, this one is important too for The British market. Of course, Stellantis will produce vans with green hydrogen, build a network of hydrogennfilling stations, integration of fuel cell system into their vehicle architecture and costs. More multiple propulsion options are yet to come. The world's newest car giant promises.
