When it comes to celebrating any brand’s anniversary, everyone expects something greater and unique. The Italian Coachbuilder Touring Superleggera decided to mark its 95th anniversary with a glamorous first-ever mid-engine vehicle next month. According to the coachbuilder’s statement, the vehicle will be a two-seat coupe completing the automaker’s typical range of vehicles.

This model will share a plentitude of design elements with its recent Touring predecessors showing off the clear evolution and an enhancement towards the Touring’s contemporary front-engine Aero family. The Touring cars are distinctive with their elegant flow and balance of proportions. Their statement “a truly fitting example to carry forward the Touring philosophy into the mid-engine genre.”

Funded by Felice Bianchi Anderloni and Gaetano Ponzoni, the Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera adventure started bringing unique designs on the market, since 1926. Their glory was reached with the courageous move to step away from body-on-frame vehicles towards the uniqueness which became a legend on the Italian ground and across the world.

The Disco Volante was the 2012 model that brought the company back on the trademark when back in 2006 the company decided to build vehicles again. As for today, the company is mainly focused on producing the Aero 3, based on a Ferrari F12 with other complex modern features.

Based on a mid-engine vehicle, the special Touring Supelggera already reached the final stages of production and will be ready for its official unveiling in June. It’ll bring the Italian spirit along with it during the display at events all around the world at events such as The Quail in California, The Bridge in New York, Salon Prive in the UK, and the Zoute GP in Belgium.
