Is Porsche 911 S/T Really Worth An Arm And A Leg?

You probably know that when it comes to options for Porsche, choices abound. But so too do the prices for these choices, especially for the special edition ones.

For instance, the brand-new 911 S/T has already turned heads by revealing its base price of 291,600 USD—a budget-friendly figure, don't you think?

Of course, it won't lack a touch of exclusivity, with only 1,963 units planned for production.

If you haven't caught up with this yet, the Porsche 911 S/T configuration is now available, and we took the opportunity to build the ultimate version. By that, we mean the most expensive version, and we came up with this eye-popping price of...

Are you ready?

374,600 USD. It's the most expensive Porsche 911 in the 992 family, and for good measure, the priciest new Porsche for sale, period. However, that's not necessarily the case if you can forgo two purely aesthetic features.

Then again, simple shades of black and white are free, or you can pay 4,220 USD for one of the six special colors. The paint-to-sample feature elevates this option, allowing you to paint your Porsche in any color you desire. While this is available on other Porsche models, you'll need to fork out nearly 44k USD for the 911 S/T.

The second big-budget addition may be a harder pill to swallow. It's the 20,360 USD Heritage Design Package, honoring the 911's 60th birthday. This package includes eye-catching Porsche graphics and roundels on the sides, and classic Porsche crests on the hood and wheels, among other features.

Alongside, purchasing the package is the only way to get the Shore Blue Metallic paint, though Porsche does allow buyers to combine this package with paint-to-sample. Choosing just these two extras adds no less than 63,750 USD to the price.

The Heritage Design Package eliminates almost all other interior options for shades or materials. The Chrono Package is automatically selected when you choose the heritage feature. If you value interior comfort, be ready to pay almost 2,000 USD more for leather seat backs. The stylish brushed aluminum door sills will cut off 1,180 USD from your bank account.

Options available include the front-axle lift system for 3,670 USD, LED Matrix headlights for 4,010 USD, and a Bose surround stereo for 1,600 USD. These tech features contribute to the final price, and be prepared to pay 2,000 USD for the delivery experience in Los Angeles.

If you want LED Matrix headlights, be ready to pay 4,010 USD, and if you're into high-quality sound, you'll part with another 1,600 for a Bose surround stereo.

So, dear gearheads, is it really worth the price?

We are talking about an incredibly fast 911 here, powered by a 518-hp flat-six engine found in the 911 GT3 RS, and paired with a manual six-speed transmission.
