Introducing Aehra SUV, Which Features Supercar-Style Doors And Motorcycle-Style Mirrors

An Italian EV manufacturer aims to outpace the crowded luxury SUV market with its first offering. The Aehra SUV, as it is now known, is the first SUV to include both gullwing and butterfly doors. In Aehra's terminology, they are elytra-like doors.

Even while the thin side mirrors and small front and rear overhangs of this new electric SUV are eye-catching, it is the doors that are the focal point.

Racing bikes served as inspiration for the mirrors, and the fastback profile is achieved by a sharply sloped windshield that flows into the roof. The SUV's bold stance is the result of a "courageous approach," according to Aehra Chief Design Officer Filippo Perini. The wheelbase is 118 inches.

We don't yet know the SUV's power output or range, but it does include active aero components in the front and back to help it run as efficiently as possible. The monobody SUV from Aehra is built with a lot of composite materials.

The SUV's design was introduced by Aehra during an event in Milan, where the company is located. Additionally, an electric sedan is in development and is scheduled to hit the market in February 2023. Both the SUV and the sedan should be available to buyers by 2025 if production goes according to plan.
