The big news from Aston Martin is that the British carmaker, in collaboration with Heart of Racing, is gearing up to unleash the futuristic Aston Martin Valkyrie into the thrilling world of competitive racing.

They have exciting plans for the Valkyrie, aiming to have at least one of these phenomenal machines compete in top-tier racing events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Rolex 24 at Daytona, and the 12 Hours of Sebring, starting in 2025.

Notably, this powerhouse won't just dazzle at the FIA WEC but is also set to leave its mark in the IMSA WeatherTech SportCar Championship. Lawrence Stroll, the executive chairman at Aston Martin Lagonda, emphasized the immense value of this return to endurance racing.

He sees it as a fantastic opportunity to deepen their connection with the community, especially those who've been drawn to the brand through its historic successes at Le Mans. Stroll highlighted the wealth of knowledge being harnessed through their F1 team, seeing it as a valuable asset to enhance the Valkyrie racecar's performance at these prestigious events.

The heart of the Valkyrie racecar remains the 6.5-liter Cosworth V12 engine from the customer car. However, it will undergo a significant change to align with regulations. Sporting rules dictate that the racecar's output be capped at 671 hp, a notable reduction from the 1,000+ horsepower of its road-bound sibling. Additionally, the racecar must strictly adhere to aerodynamic guidelines without compromising lap times, ensuring a competitive edge on the track.

Adam Carter, Aston Martin’s head of motorsport, exudes confidence in this partnership, aiming to deliver a race car that can truly challenge the best in its class. The Valkyrie's foray into racing is an opportunity to showcase its potential on the track while maintaining a unique connection with its road car counterpart. The Valkyrie, conceived to shatter boundaries, is ready to prove its mettle on the race track—a testament to Aston Martin's unwavering commitment to excellence.
