Hyundai Elantra N Will Get A Dongfeng Aeolus Yixuan MAX Dark Night Edge Edition

If you live in China, you're likely to find sedans equipped with speedy parts right out of the box. The newest illustration is the Dongfeng Aeolus Yixuan MAX Dark Night Edge Edition, which was revealed as a concept last year and is finally available for purchase in China.

A grille dominates the front end, which is coupled to actual and faux intakes and features gold details and a massive splitter. The front and rear fender add-ons keep the same motif going on the profile, expanding the sedan's width and hiding the larger BBS-style rims.

The rear bumper has been reworked as well, with a large diffuser and two golden wings that mirror the front splitter and draw attention to the additional winglets behind the rear wheels. Even though the quad exhaust pipes appear to be overwhelming for the purpose, Chinese media reports that they are working.

A conventional 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a 3D image of the ordinary sedan lacking the exotic body kit and the 10.25-inch central touchscreen is found inside. Surprisingly, the gold highlights on the dash are mixed with red accents throughout the cabin, making the inside feel less sporty than the outside.

A 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood delivers 188 hp (140 kW / 190 PS) and 300 Nm of torque, just like the standard Aeolus Yixuan MAX. A seven-speed DCT transmission delivers power to the front axle, allowing for a max speed of 210 km/h (130 mph).

However, it falls far short of the expectations raised by its design, and it is no match for the Hyundai Elantra N, which produces 286 hp (213 kW / 290 PS) and 392 Nm (289 lb-ft) from its turbocharged 2.0-liter engine.

The Dongfeng Aeolus Yixuan MAX Dark Night Edge Edition starts at ¥117,900 ($18,631), which is much less than the Hyundai Elantra N, which costs ¥152,100 ($25,350) in China.
